Le galarneau: The critics
Mirthful zipper songs like "Les Parties de Gregoire" and the namesake "Genticorum" will leave you smiling, while house-dance
cloggers like "La Brunante" and raw-edged Cajunesque songs like "Le 25 de Mai" will get your feet moving.
Rob Weir, Sing Out

The musical quality of this trio is high… and no doubt "Le Galarneau" should be for all fans of French Québec music a welcome
addition to their CD collection.
Michael Moll, FolkWorld

Their debut CD, Le Galarneau, is an auspicious recording which gets the toes tapping as soon as it starts.
Steve Edge, Rogue Folk Review

The group's complicity and dynamic energy has been growing ever since as demonstrated on this lively recording, whose sonority
is surprising considering they are only a trio. They really have it in them! Genticorum's repertoire is essentially Québécois with a particular
penchant for crooked tunes and songs. In addition to researching unusual repertoire, the trio integrates several original compositions
inspired from the folk tradition. From the first time I listened to Le Galarneau, I was very impressed with the high quality of the instrumental
pieces and songs, the interesting choice of repertoire and the Cd's impeccable production. They sound like a bunch of old pros filled with
the incredible energy and liveliness of the new generation of folk musicians! Now we're talking tradition! Le Galarneau has been one of the
best kept secrets in the Québec folk music scene and I highly recommend this recording. Let me know what you think... Although
Genticorum's main interest is performing in concert, the group is also actively involved in Québec traditional dancing. Their particpation
in numerous Québec and Breton style dance gatherings has contributed in helping the group forge their own sound. Genticorum clearly
illustrates the vivacity of Québec traditional music today. The group loves sharing their passion for this music as much at home as abroad.

Their music has a striking depth and richness… [Le Galarneau] has an amazing cohesiveness, sense of humour, and maturity; essential
listening for anyone interested in Canada’s most vital tradition.

The excellent Le Galarneau is rich in sauce and spice…
